Child & Adolescent

The Institute serves children and adolescents from 0 – 17 years and their families with a variety of therapeutic formats to best suit the needs of the client.

For all child and adolescent clients, families, parents, and caregivers are highly involved in the therapeutic process for both inpatient and outpatient services. For situations in which inpatient residential services are needed for children between the ages of 0-5 years, parents/caregivers will stay on site with the child.

For children 6 and older and for adolescents, inpatient residential and outpatient services will be available on site. Residential inpatient services will be provided in separate wings for children between 6 – 12 years and for adolescents between 13 – 17 years. Both inpatient residential and outpatient therapeutic services will involve a multidisciplinary approach with various mental health, medical, and physical therapies which incorporate critical developmental considerations for the child’s age, stage, and unique goals.

Mental health services for both residential and outpatient will utilize evidence-based and research-informed approaches and modalities suitable for children, such as play therapy, sandtray, art therapy, EMDR, and neurosequential therapeutics.

The residential and outpatient areas for children, adolescents, and their families are mindfully designed to facilitate a sense of welcome, calm, connection, and safety.
